Advocacy
The West Virginia Speech Language and Hearing Association provides representation for its members and individuals affected by legislation of issues related to communication disorders. The process involves the use of a professional lobbyist and coordinated lobby efforts through direct contact by members with legislators on relevant issues. This contact takes the form of emails, phone calls, and personal contact during activities like WVSHA Lobby Day.
The opinion on an issue is developed through the passage of policy statements which directs the lobbying process. If you are interested in helping please contact the Vice President of Governmental Affairs Nora Corra.
